“The architecture doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the final form of the building.“ - John Hejduk
Hi there!
I’m VN, an interior designer with a deep passion for exploring the dynamic relationship between public and interior spaces. The concept of "public interiors" might seem paradoxical—where "public" suggests openness and inclusivity, "interiors" typically evoke exclusivity, enclosed by walls. This intriguing contradiction has driven my nearly ten-year journey, from undergraduate studies through professional practice, and now in my pursuit of a Master’s degree at Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
This website showcases the professional projects I’ve contributed to over the past five years, particularly in F&B, retail, hotels, and pop-ups—spaces often debated in terms of their public nature. I believe that any space where people gather, interact, and influence one another becomes “public”. My goal as an interior designer is to navigate this intersection, creating environments that foster inclusivity, connection, and a just privately-owned public realm.
I am currently seeking new opportunities, and you can explore my portfolio here.
