Sanctuary in the Circuit: The 996 Escape

Huawei, a tech giant, is well-known for its rigorous 996 work schedule - working from 9 AM to 9 PM, 6 days a week. The design ethos extends beyond merely accommodating the routine of meetings and discussions; it serves as a sanctuary for thousands of employees within the campus, offering a respite from the relentless codes and virtual networks to reconnect with the often-forgotten natural world. It challenges the notion of being "too busy to take a break," with the architecture featuring openings on all four sides aligned with the main pedestrian flow directions. The intent is to maximize the visibility of the serene café scene within, encouraging employees to look forward to a moment of leisure at the café during their daily commutes, fostering a sense of anticipation for a brief escape to rejuvenate amidst nature.
